What documents are required to open an account

1. Personal identification documents, such as:

(1) Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card (for Hong Kong permanent residents);

(2) Macao SAR Permanent Resident Identity Card (for Macao permanent residents);

(3) Hong Kong Resident Identity Card, together with a national passport (for those who are not permanent residents of Hong Kong but reside there);

(4) Macao SAR Non-Permanent Resident Identity Card, together with a national passport (for those who are not permanent residents of Macao but reside there); or

(5) National identity card, together with a national passport (for those who are not permanent residents of Hong Kong or Macao and reside outside those areas).

2. Proof of personal address issued within last three months, such as:

(1) Public utility bills;

(2) Statements or notices issued by other financial institutions such as banks, credit card companies, insurance companies, or MPF (Mandatory Provident Fund) trust companies;

(3) Statements for mobile, fixed-line, broadband, or pay-television services; or

(4) Rates bills or tax bills.

Note: Apart from the required documents listed, you may be required to provide additional documents on a case-by-case basis.
